Upcoming Trip to Chinese Garden & Tea House

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon at Portland’s Classical Chinese Garden, an oasis of tranquil beauty with hundreds of rare trees and shrubs. See it all in the daily garden tour or simply enjoy the garden from the comfort of the Tea House. Admission is $7.50, but you will want to bring money for a cup of tea!

Field Trip to the Chocolate Fest

Join us on Saturday, January 30th at 10:30a.m. for a TriMet transit trip to Chocolate Fest at the World Forestry Center. Transportation is FREE! Admission to festival is $7. More info here!

What: The Portland Civic Theatre Guild presents a showing of The Mysterious Mr. Love.
Suspense and thrills abound in the period drama. A dapper smoothly makes his living by wooing and wedding plain young women who have little money stashed away. After each wedding night he disappears. This time, however, things don't go as planned as he attempts to swindle a young milliner's assistant with her own secret agenda.

Join Us on Our Visit to the Pacific Hazelnut Factory

See how the nuts are graded and candies are made by taking a virtual tour of the Pacific Hazelnut Factory and sample some of their delicious candies and nuts. Free!! Afterwards, stop for lunch at the historic Top of the Hill Restaurant.

February Trip: Lunch With the Birds

Join expert birdwatcher Greg Gillson for this free birdwatching event at the Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve! A wheelchair accessible viewing station provides the perfect place to enjoy a sack lunch as you view and identify waterfowl and other birds. Field guides, spotting scopes and binoculars will be supplied. Bring a sack lunch.

Monthly Rides to WinCo

On the first Wednesday of every month Northwest Portland Ministries provides transportation to WinCo, a low price local supermarket. Riders will be picked up around 9:00am and will be dropped off by 12:00pm. Seats are available on a first come first serve basis. To schedule your ride, contact Dave at Northwest Portland Ministries, 503-221-1224, x100.

Rides home from the Pantry on Tuesdays...

Rides are now available to Northwest Portland Ministries' Food Pantry at 1808 NW Irving St. (First Immanuel Lutheran Church - map). It is open Tuesdays & Fridays from 11:00am to 1:00pm. NWPM provides transportation services by donation. If you need help getting home from the Northwest Portland Ministries (NWPM) Emergency Food Pantry with your groceries, we have volunteers available on Tuesdays to drive you. Please call the office one day in advance to let us know that you’d like a ride home, and we’ll have a volunteer ready for you! Other rides require three days notice & are for those age 60 and older.Please call NWPM, Inc. at 503-221-1224. Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • learn about the history of chocolate!

Time: 10:30 a.m.— 1 p.m.
Place: Meet “Ride Ambassador” at mask sculpture at the entrance of PGE Park, 18th and Morrison. As a group, we'll take MAX to the World Forestry Center.
Cost: Transit is free! Admission to the festival is $7.
